You’ve already built a solid career in fire protection, security, or life‑safety project management. Now it’s time to put that experience to work with a global leader that values expertise, ownership, and real impact.

At Johnson Controls (JCI), we’re reimagining how buildings perform to better serve people, places, and the planet. Join a best‑in‑class team where your experience is respected, your voice is heard, and your contribution directly shapes safer, smarter facilities across industries.

Why Experienced Professionals Choose JCI

  • Competitive salary

  • 15 days of vacation your first year, plus paid holidays and sick time

  • Full benefits starting Day One medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)

  • Hands‑on product training and cross‑training with industry‑leading technology

  • Collaborative, experienced teams who know the business

  • A strong Zero Harm safety culture—because how we work matters

  • Real career growth with a company that promotes from within

What You’ll Do

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead complex fire alarm, security, communications, and sprinkler installation projects across commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial facilities. You’ll be the go‑to leader from kickoff through closeout—owning results, solving problems, and delivering high‑quality projects on time and on budget.

You’ll:

  • Manage projects end‑to‑end: design, permits, materials, labor, installation, and closeout

  • Be the primary point of contact for customers, engineers, architects, and inspectors

  • Build and execute project plans that protect margins and meet schedules

  • Lead Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) meetings and drive accountability

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, AHJ requirements, and internal procedures

  • Manage change orders and continuously look for margin improvement opportunities

  • Oversee service contract work for a large client, including inspections, repairs, and retesting timelines

How You’ll Be Successful

  • Apply proven Project Management methodologies across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with field teams, customers, and leadership

  • Manage resources, provide technical guidance, and remove roadblocks

  • Maintain full financial ownership—forecasting costs, tracking progress, and managing budgets using AIA standards

  • Ensure high workmanship quality through site inspections and field engagement

  • Deliver responsive, professional customer service—even in high‑pressure situations

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of project management experience in fire protection, life safety, construction, sprinkler, or suppression systems

  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel (tracking, formulas, macros)

  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑driven

  • Ability to handle challenging customer and field situations professionally

  • Willingness to travel up to 30%

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of NFPA, IEC, UL, and relevant building codes

  • NICET Level I or higher

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business‑related field
