General Summary:

The Fire Equipment Technician will assist in the growth of the Fire Equipment line of products here at Hooper.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Install kitchen hood systems
  • Inspect fire extinguishers, kitchen fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and other life safety equipment
  • Complete new installations of fire equipment
  • Recharge fire extinguishers and other related equipment
  • Train others to recharge, install, and inspect equipment
  • Work with other Hooper trades with past, current, and future customers and opportunities
  • Understand and practice workplace safety
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • At least 2-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Completion of certifications in different kitchen fire suppression systems preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
  • Safety-orientated and ability to make decisions without close supervision

of Physical Working Environment:

  • Physically demanding position. Requires continuous standing, walking, and lifting on a regular basis with frequent twisting, bending, and turning
  • May require lifting of supply boxes or materials up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders, steps, and work on equipment surfaces is required
