Position Summary

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is responsible for installing, programming, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing fire detection and signaling systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of fire alarm or fire protection systems experience, and NICET Level II certification. Candidates who can obtain NICET Level II certification within the first 18 months of employment may also be considered. An equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience will be considered.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fire detection and signaling systems.
• Perform scheduled services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, applicable codes and standards, and Eagle Fire policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and schedule inspections with customers as required.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation for Company records, customers, authorities having jurisdiction, and other required parties.
• Communicate system deficiencies, recommended repairs, and other important findings to customers and appropriate Eagle Fire team members.
• Follow up on recommended repairs to help ensure identified system deficiencies are corrected.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent Eagle Fire professionally.
• Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional Eagle Fire services when appropriate.
• Train and support Technician Trainees as assigned.
• Exercise sound judgment and appropriate decision-making authority to support successful service outcomes and customer satisfaction.
• Complete timesheets, time and material reports, inspection documentation, and other required administrative records accurately and on time.
• Complete continuing education requirements necessary to maintain applicable certifications and licenses.
• Work the hours necessary to fulfill customer and business obligations, which may include overtime, after-hours work, or out-of-town travel.
• Adhere to all Eagle Fire standards and procedures, including the Company’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.
• Follow all Company safety policies and work procedures and exercise stop-work authority when an unsafe condition or act is identified.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of fire alarm or fire protection systems experience preferred.
• NICET Level II certification preferred; candidates must be able to obtain NICET Level II within the first 18 months of employment.
• Working knowledge of applicable fire protection codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements.
• Experience installing, programming, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems.
• Ability to operate and efficiently use measuring instruments, gauges, and other industry-related tools and devices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal direction.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, establish priorities, resolve conflicts, and solve problems as they arise.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, authorities having jurisdiction, and individuals at all organizational levels.
• Team-oriented approach and willingness to support the development of other technicians.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Professional appearance, communication, and conduct.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight when required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull.
• Ability to work at heights exceeding 10 feet and in confined spaces.
• Ability to drive a Company or personal vehicle for business purposes.
• Ability to work in extremely hot or cold environments.
• Ability to work in environments with loud sounds and elevated noise levels.
• Ability to safely use ladders, tools, testing equipment, and other job-related equipment.
