Job Description
The FinOps Manager will be accountable for the end to end financial operations for revenue and costs across Maersk Contract logistics sites, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting. The role will oversee the flow of financial inputs from sites through to accurate reporting in Cube, while partnering closely with the Area Finance teams and relevant GSC functions. The role will work closely with Finance Business Partners (FBP), FP&A, Accounting, GSC and site/BCO teams to ensure financial accuracy, strong controls, timely issue resolution and clear visibility of site-level financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Receivables Management
- Ensure accurate and timely customer billing based on contractual terms, agreed rates and operational inputs
- Ensure correct customer codes, GL/material codes, cost centers and profit centers are provided to relevant GSC teams
- Ensure customer accounts are regularly reconciled and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly
- Obtain quarterly customer NOCs/reconciliations as required
Cost & Payables Management
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments
- Ensure correct vendor codes, GL/material codes, cost centers and profit centers are provided to GSC teams
- Oversee accurate allocation of costs in line with global accounting guidelines
- Ensure appropriate visibility and control over SG&A, depreciation and other site-level costs
- Ensure vendor accounts are reconciled regularly and obtain quarterly vendor NOCs where required
Financial Controls / Reporting & Cube Accuracy
- Ensure accruals are submitted accurately and on a timely basis, with appropriate supporting information
- Ensure there is no duplication between actual costs and accruals
- Perform and oversee financial controls for sites in collaboration with the BCO team
- Identify control gaps and drive timely corrective actions
- Ensure accurate site-level P&L visibility in Cube.
- Reconcile financial data submitted by sites/GSC against Cube reporting and investigate any variances.
- Escalate discrepancies and drive timely resolution with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure any required baseline corrections are appropriately validated and signed off with BCO
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting and visibility for MCL FinOps processes
Contracts, Rates & Commercial Controls
- Ensure all relevant customer and vendor contracts and rates are in place, accurate and updated on a timely basis
- Ensure billing and cost processes are aligned with agreed contractual terms and rates
- Identify potential financial leakage or incorrect charging and coordinate corrective actions
Stakeholder & Area Finance Collaboration
- Partner closely with FBP, FP&A, Accounting, GSC, BCO and site teams to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations
- Act as the key FinOps point of contact for site-level financial matters
- Proactively highlight financial risks, discrepancies and areas requiring management attention
- Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure timely closure of financial issues
Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant Finance/FinOps experience, preferably within the UAE Contract Logistics Market
- Strong understanding of Contract Logistics financial processes, including revenue, billing, payables, accruals, cost allocation and site-level P&L
- Experience working with GSC/centralized finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and reporting
- Experience with Cube or similar financial reporting systems is preferred
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites/processes and drive timely resolution of financial issues
