Finishing Operator fills batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type. Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.
Areas of Focus
The Finishing Operator will be committed to performing the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator.
Responsibilities
Level I
• On/Off Bear batteries from production line
• Understand and practice the Quality policy
• Use hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc.
• Work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant
• Capable of working in extreme temperatures and heavy environment is a plus
• Strong team skills
• Solve problems and recommend solutions
• All employees must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site
• Lift 50-80 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Remove caps and perform visual check to ensure that batteries are facing correctly when transmitting through the conveyor
• Correctly apply proper vent caps, ensuring a tight seal, and apply labels to batteries
Basic Qualifications
• High School Diploma or greater
• 2-3 years’ manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Must be clean shaven
