Basic Functions Responsible for operating rewind and finishing equipment to inspect and slit and finish labels to customer specifications. Assists Senior Press Operators or Press Operators to produce quality labels and product according to order specifications.
Qualifications
MAIN DUTIES ARE:
• Reads order specifications, sets up rewind and finishing equipment to finish product and pack for shipment to customers.
• Coordinate set up activities with the press operator to be as efficient as possible .
• Works with Operators and Quality to ensure that production has manufactured quality labels.
• Inspect and remove all defects, properly re-splice roll in compliance with quality specs.
• Ensure core tags and rewind position is correct as required by order .
• Ensure proper splice .
• Apply knowledge to check orders and ensure that all press work is up to company and customer quality specifications.
• Packs product according to specifications .
• Assist operators with make ready and wash ups .
• Communicates effectively with all manufacturing personnel.
• Complete reports and enter data on jobs to provide accurate documentation of time.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES ARE:
• Retrieve and enter information electronically as needed.
• Reports all machine problems to maintenance department personnel or supervisor immediately.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Work with minimal amount of supervision.
• Observe all safety policies and procedures.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed
Work Experience requirements:
• Company provides on the job training and training courses.
• Flexographic experience helpful.
Skills:
• Reading and math above a high school level.
• Basic computer skills.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to complete the printing job.
Essential Functions and Working Conditions:
The person filling this position must have the following abilities and be able to work under the listed conditions.
• Must have the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. (Required color blindness test).
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to change heavy rolls (up to 50 lbs.) with lift assist.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a repeated basis.
• Must have the ability to bend, stoop, squat, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
• Must have the ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
Education Requirements:
• High school diploma (or equivalent) or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Must have mechanical or manufacturing experience.
• Reading & math at high school level
