Job Description

The Finishing Process Operative (FPO) is a flexible multi-skilled manufacturing operative role which is key to ensuring self-sufficiency of a manufacturing team. The role forms part of a team of operatives on one cell/line on a shift, within one of the main business units of the site. Working closely with the team, within the cell/line the PO will be responsible for the productive output of the cell in line with establish throughput targets, autonomous maintenance in line with the TPM CIL Plan, Change overs in line with SOPs as well as process control in line with the Quality Control Plan. The PO may also be expected to take higher responsibility in absence of the Process Leader.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety and Security awareness ensuring a zero-incident mentality.
  • Process Control and Right First Time Quality. [QCP and QIS]
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Productivity [OEE Targets]
  • Manufacturing performance to plan on an hourly/daily/shift/week basis including problem resolution [PDCA]
  • Autonomous Maintenance [TPM]
  • Changeovers within standard [SOPs]
  • Process Documentation sustained
  • Training/mentoring of colleagues
  • Problem solving & root cause analysis
  • Material Control & reconciliation
  • Engaging in 8 wastes reduction initiatives and Operational Excellence training/projects.
  • To understand the principles and comply with practices of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement.
