If you’re a certified Journeyman Cabinetmaker, or a 3rd or 4th year apprentice ready to take the next step, with strong craftsmanship skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a fast paced, hands on environment, we want to hear from you. As a Cabinetmaker at West Edmonton Mall, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing custom cabinetry, millwork, and architectural features throughout a unique, high traffic facility. Responsibilities include:
• Fabricating, assembling, repairing, and installing custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, laminates, and solid surface materials throughout the facility
• Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan layouts, determine dimensions, and select appropriate materials
• Operating woodworking equipment such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, shapers, and a full range of hand tools
• Installing and repairing frames, trim, flooring, fixtures, and built in features in retail, entertainment, and amusement environments
• Ensuring all work meets applicable building codes, safety standards, and West Edmonton Mall construction requirements
• Performing ongoing maintenance and repairs in a high visibility, customer facing environment
• Maintaining a strong focus on quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail
• Providing guidance and support to apprentices or labourers as required
• Supporting additional maintenance projects and repairs as needed to ensure smooth operation of a large, complex facility
What We’re Looking For: Valid Red Seal Journeyman Cabinetmaker Certification or current 3rd or 4th year apprentice status in a recognized cabinetmaking program, with relevant hands on experience. Ideally 3+ years of experience in a commercial or industrial cabinetmaking environment (or equivalent apprentice experience). Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Experience with solid surface fabrication, repair, and maintenance is a strong asset. Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, walking long distances, and lifting up to 50 lbs. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory 3 year driver’s abstract is required.
Details:
• Full time | Monday–Friday.
• Starting hourly rate: $35.00 per hour (Journeyman rate; apprentice compensation based on level and experience).
• Must pass basic security clearance.
