Under the direction of the supervisor, workers perform production, maintenance or janitorial duties as assigned to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, yield and Cost goals. Each operator is responsible for and has the necessary authority to ensure quality, including stopping production to correct quality non-conformance.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

- Uses appropriate measurement equipment and techniques as trained
- Records and maintains documentation and data as required.
- Follows applicable work instructions.
- Uses good housekeeping skills to maintain the work area.
- Follows directions and instructions of all supervisory personnel.
- Maintains good relations with co-workers, management and visitors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TOOLING & EQUIPMENT: Assorted hand tools, 0”- 2” micrometer, wall micrometer, and steel tape.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION: Straighten, cut to length and/or coil tubing to customer specifications.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTION: Set up various segments of the machine including the flying saw and perform stock handling.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Check equipment before operating at start of shift. Check production order for desired specifications, check incoming stock of quality (O.D., wall, and I.D.). Set up machine including straightener rolls, length of cut off, including weighing coils to assure meeting specs., coiler ID & OD of coils, wipers, testers, set-up, adjust, and clean-up printer and cutter. Operate machine and adjust components as necessary to ensure quality of tube. Hold proper length tolerances per mill order or as advised. Perform troubleshooting and minor maintenance on the machine. Must operate overhead conveyor to bring incoming stock to the machine. Responsible for moving finished stock to holding area. Complete quality checks during run and complete quality records on all production at the Finish machine. Must keep assigned machinery and work area neat, clean, and orderly. Follow all safety and shop rules. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Monitor condition of oleum tank. Clean and refill with fresh oleum as required.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have considerable mechanical ability for set-ups. Weight and frequency requirements higher than 1202 and 1203 material size 5/8 OD tube and up to 1 1/8”
