Job Type: Part-Time

Shift: Day, Monday -Friday (Some Saturdays for Remote Sessions)

The successful candidate will involve reviewing electronic fingerprinting databases, performing on-site live scan fingerprinting to capture a person’s fingerprints to conduct non-criminal background checks and operating an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). This position requires an attention to details when checking and submitting completed background check forms.

Duties:

• Operates the computerized Live Scan unit to collect electronic fingerprint scans andrelated demographic data from customers; obtains fingerprints using both ink method andelectronic data processing equipment.
• Visually screens inked fingerprints to determine whether they are sufficiently legible tofacilitate identification and a timely record check
• Maintains and compiles verification of accounting logs, collection of monetary fees,balancing daily receipts and other duties related to funds handling process
• The incumbent in this position will be performing fingerprint services and demographicdata collection for non-criminal justice purposes for the Criminal Justice InformationSystem (CJIS) - Central Repository
• Assist applicants with processing forms.
• Verify required documents.
• Perform biometrics processing to include capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs,and signatures. Proof and check work for accuracy and completeness and maintain a 98%efficiency rating for all processed forms.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all applicants.
• Track processing time for each applicant.
• Safeguard all documents.
• Perform additional administrative duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous customer service experience and working with the public.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience conducting applicant LiveScan fingerprinting for licensing and/oremployment.
• Experience using the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) central repository orthe Maryland Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
