About Global Delivery Services

The Compliance team at EY GDS collaborates with EY offices worldwide to deliver a broad range of compliance solutions to clients. The team supports short- and long-term engagements focused on establishing, maintaining, and reviewing business functions and compliance programmers.

Financial crime risks—including anti-money laundering (AML), terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, sanctions, and fraud—remain a key priority for regulated organizations and are subject to increasing external scrutiny as regulations and industry practices continue to evolve. The Senior AI Architect will play a critical role in designing and implementing AI solutions that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of compliance processes.

The Opportunity

As part of the Global Managed Services Delivery team, you will collaborate with EY offices worldwide to support clients in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements through effective project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

As a Senior AI Architect, you will combine financial crime domain knowledge with strong technical expertise to design and build AI-driven solutions for operational functions. The role requires hands-on experience in developing scalable AI, machine learning, and generative AI applications for compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions for KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and financial crime compliance processes.
• Develop Generative AI, NLP, machine learning, and predictive analytics models for risk assessment, alert prioritization, and compliance automation.
• Design AI copilots, Agentic AI solutions and intelligent investigation assistants to enhance analyst productivity and decision-making.
• L Leverage graph analytics, network intelligence, and anomaly detection techniques to identify hidden risks, beneficial ownership structures, and suspicious activities.
• Lead end-to-end AI solution architecture, governance, deployment, MLOps, and stakeholder management across business and technology teams.
• Build explainable, auditable, and regulator-ready AI solutions aligned with responsible AI principles and compliance requirements.
• Drive AI innovation by identifying emerging technologies and scalable opportunities to improve operational efficiency, data intelligence, and business outcomes.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, Azure OpenAI, AWS or Azure AI services, Databricks, graph analytics, entity resolution, and MLOps.
• Experience with financial crime platforms such as NICE Actimize, Oracle FCCM, SAS AML, Fenergo, Quantexa, or comparable solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior consulting experience is preferred.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• 5 to 8 years of experience designing and delivering AI-driven solutions.
• Relevant experience in banking, financial crime compliance, AML, or a related regulated industry.
• Ability to work from the office 5 days a week.
• Willingness to work on Indian public holidays when required by the client.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Energy, enthusiasm, and the confidence to lead.
• Strong presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Effective project management and teamwork skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
