The successful candidate will combine strong Financial Crime expertise with proven people leadership skills. This role requires someone who can manage operational performance, develop teams, engage with global stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in a complex, fast-paced environment.

As part of the GDS Financial Crime team, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality delivery, strengthening operational consistency, and supporting the ongoing optimization of Financial Crime processes across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of multiple Financial Crime operations.
  • Manage operational performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, quality targets, productivity measures, and risk requirements.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and mentor team members while fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Drive workforce planning, capacity management, and workload allocation to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex or high-risk cases requiring technical review and sound judgment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across various EY member firms and business functions.
  • Provide regular operational insights and performance reporting to leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, close process gaps, and enhance quality through standardization and automation.
  • Support strategic improvement programs focused on operational consistency, harmonized procedures, and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the GDS Financial Crime operating model and transformation agenda.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, and other Financial Crime requirements.
  • Support change management activities, new process transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications, skills and attributes for success

  • 10–13 years of overall professional experience, including 7+ years in Financial Crime, AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, or related compliance areas.
  • At least 5 years of team management experience leading and developing operational teams in a multinational or shared services environment.
  • Strong subject matter expertise across Financial Crime processes, including customer risk assessments, due diligence, sanctions screening, adverse media reviews, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across various geographies and business functions.
  • Proven ability to manage operational KPIs, service delivery metrics, quality performance, and workforce planning activities.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process transformation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound risk-based decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams through change, growth, and operational transformation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Professional AML, Financial Crime, Compliance, ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent certifications would be advantageous.

What we look for

  • Strong combination of technical Financial Crime expertise and people leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced global environment with multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative leader who can influence stakeholders, develop people, and drive operational excellence.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on simplifying and standardizing processes.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and delivery orientation.
