Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager Germany, you will be part of the Finance organization supporting the financial operations of Microchip Frequency Technology GmbH. As a Financial Accountant / Cost Accountant, you will take responsibility for core accounting, cost accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance activities at the Neckarbischofsheim site. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting under both US GAAP and German GAAP (HGB), maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting the company's financial objectives through high-quality financial data and analysis.

You will work closely with local Finance teams in Teltow and Heilbronn, Tax, Controlling, Procurement, and external auditors to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and reporting deadlines. You will contribute to an efficient and reliable finance function while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and financial processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Close & Operational Accounting

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities under US GAAP and HGB.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform cost allocations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain cost accounting processes and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Support the preparation and review of financial reports and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting of business transactions.

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and support VAT reporting and related tax compliance activities.
• Manage German statistical reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support implementation and maintenance of Internal Control Systems (ICS/IKS) for HGB purposes.

Fixed Asset Accounting

• Manage the fixed asset register.
• Process asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards related to fixed assets.

Travel & Expense and Local Finance Support

• Ensure compliant handling of travel and expense processes.
• Support company car administration, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Act as a local finance contact for accounting-related topics and inquiries.

Audit & Reporting

• Support internal and external audits, including statutory HGB audits.
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audit requirements.
• Contribute to financial reporting packages and management reporting needs.
• Ensure audit readiness and timely provision of requested information.

Hauptaufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

Monats-, Quartals- und Jahresabschlüsse sowie operative Buchhaltung

• Durchführung der Monats-, Quartals- und Jahresabschlussarbeiten nach US-GAAP und HGB.
• Sicherstellung der Integrität des Hauptbuchs sowie Durchführung von Bilanzabstimmungen.
• Durchführung von Kostenumlagen und Intercompany-Abstimmungen.
• Pflege der Kostenrechnungsprozesse sowie Sicherstellung der Genauigkeit und Integrität von Finanzdaten.
• Unterstützung bei der Erstellung und Prüfung von Finanzberichten und Abstimmungen.
• Sicherstellung einer zeitnahen und korrekten Verbuchung von Geschäftsvorfällen.

Steuern & Compliance

• Erstellung und Unterstützung bei Umsatzsteuer-Meldungen sowie steuerlichen Compliance-Aktivitäten.
• Verantwortung für die deutschen statistischen Meldungen.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung interner Kontrollen, Rechnungslegungsrichtlinien und gesetzlicher Vorgaben.
• Unterstützung bei der Einführung und Pflege von internen Kontrollsystemen (IKS) für HGB-Zwecke.

Anlagenbuchhaltung

• Verwaltung des Anlagenverzeichnisses.
• Buchung von Aktivierungen, Abschreibungen, Umbuchungen und Anlagenabgängen.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von Unternehmensrichtlinien und Rechnungslegungsvorschriften im Bereich Anlagevermögen.

Reisekosten und lokale Finanzunterstützung

• Sicherstellung einer regelkonformen Abwicklung von Reise- und Spesenprozessen.
• Unterstützung bei der Verwaltung von Firmenwagen einschließlich Dokumentation und Abstimmung mit relevanten internen Ansprechpartnern.
• Ansprechpartner für buchhalterische Fragestellungen und finanzbezogene Anfragen am Standort.

Prüfungen & Berichterstattung

• Unterstützung interner und externer Prüfungen, einschließlich gesetzlicher HGB-Jahresabschlussprüfungen.
• Erstellung und Pflege prüfungsrelevanter Unterlagen und Dokumentationen.
• Mitwirkung an Finanzreporting-Packages und Managementberichten.
• Sicherstellung der Prüfungsbereitschaft sowie der fristgerechten Bereitstellung angeforderter Informationen.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter).
• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, cost accounting, or a related finance function, preferably in a multination environment.
• Good knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and familiarity with US GAAP principles.
• Experience with monthly and annual financial closing processes.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements is advantageous.
• Experience working with ERP systems (Infor LN, SAP, or similar systems, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Independent working style with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Experience supporting audits and working with auditors is advantageous.
• Practical experience applying AI tools in a business environment is advantageous.
• Very good German and English language skills.

Our site in Neckarbischofsheim develops and manufactures high-precision quartz crystals and oscillators used in telecommunications, test and measurement equipment, medical technology, and radar systems. Approximately 125 employees contribute to the success of our business at this location.

Qualifikationen

• Studium im Bereich Finanzen, Rechnungswesen, Betriebswirtschaft oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation (z. B. Bilanzbuchhalter/in).
