Two years of experience performing financial systems analysis in a County department, one year of which must have been at the level of Financial Specialist II*.
Bachelor's Degree** from an accredited college with all of the following:

Three years of experience in resolving accounting budgetary, and other financial problems, including accounting systems design and implementation, at the level of Accounting Systems Technician. ***
A California Class C Driver License is required at the time of appointment to carry out essential functions.
Successful applicants for positions that require driving must obtain and present a copy of their driving record from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles before final appointment. Applicants should not present a copy of their driving history until asked to do so by the hiring department. The County will make an individualized assessment of whether an applicant’s driving history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job. License must not be currently suspended, restricted, or revoked.
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
*In the service of Los Angeles County, Financial Specialist II, analyzes, and makes recommendations for the solution of departmental accounting, budgetary, and other financial problems including problems of accounting systems design and implementation.

***In the service of Los Angeles County, an Accounting Systems Technician is defined as performing professional accounting systems analysis work in connection with the internal audit, development, evaluation, and review of large-scale and complex fiscal control systems for State and Federally financed welfare and other programs.
You may still qualify even if your job title isn’t exactly the same as the ones listed. What matters is that your experience is at a similar level — meaning your job involves similar responsibilities, requires comparable skills and knowledge, and takes place within a similar organizational structure. Please provide a clear explanation of your experience to demonstrate that it is at the appropriate level.
No withhold or out-of-class experience will be accepted. Required experience/education must be met by the last day of filing.
Additional points will be given for experience beyond what is required in the Requirement to Qualify and who possess the following desirable qualifications:
This assessment will consist of an Evaluation of Education and Experience based upon the application information, desirable qualifications and supplemental questionnaire weighted 100%.
Applicants must receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment to be added to the list.
Applicants who pass the assessment will be placed on a list for a period of 12 months. We will use this list to fill vacancies in the Probation Department as they occur.
A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment. Any false statement or omission of material fact may cause forfeiture of employment rights. Information presented on the employment application, resume, and during the examination process is subject to verification.
Candidates who are found unsuitable for employment will be removed from the eligible list pursuant to Civil Service Rule 6.04.
