Job Description

The Financial Shared Services Analyst plays a key role in supporting Casella’s Financial Shared Services organization, including Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing Services. This role is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and presenting financial and operational data to transform it into actionable insights that improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across shared services operations. The Financial Shared Services Analyst will measure and monitor key performance indicators to help leaders evaluate current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support informed decision-making. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Customer Care, and other operational stakeholders to ensure data integrity, workforce forecasting, the integration of acquired businesses, and additional company initiatives. Further, the Analyst will also contribute to the development of tools, reporting, and automation to enhance efficiency and support Casella’s continued growth.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction for any employer. Hiring Range: $59,000 to $76,500; bonus-eligible position

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets financial and operational data across Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing Services departments to support organizational decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and databases that provide insight into transaction volumes, cycle times, aging, accuracy, and service-level performance.
  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators related to shared services efficiency, quality, and compliance while providing data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Supports acquisition and integration activities, including analysis of legacy processes, data migration, validation, system alignment, and post-integration performance tracking.
  • Partners with Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Customer Care, and other operational teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Assists Financial Shared Services leadership with staffing and capacity planning by analyzing historical trends, seasonality, and anticipated transaction volumes.
  • Conducts root cause analysis for process breakdowns, errors, or performance gaps and presents findings with actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Supports the development, testing, and optimization of process improvements, automation, and system enhancements across shared services functions.
  • Provides analytical and project support for cross-functional initiatives, including process standardization and implementation of best practices across acquired entities.
  • Independently manages and drives analytical reports as requested, including the development of predictive models and multi-source data analyses to support future planning.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, regulatory guidelines, and safety practices, as well as performing any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate has outstanding relationship‑management skills and excels in listening, communication, and problem‑solving. They are proficient in MS Office and related platforms, demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, and can teach and train others. Candidates must have a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and bring 2–5 years of progressive experience in a finance‑related field, as well as experience with acquisitions or system implementations. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field is required.
