Job Description

About the role

At ING, Financial Risk plays a critical role in safeguarding the bank’s financial health and shaping risk strategy across the balance sheet. Within Financial Risk, the ALM Portfolio Risk Management (ALM PRM) team is a global centre of expertise for behavioural modelling and replication in the banking book.

As a member of the ALM PRM team, you will work at the intersection of risk modelling, ALM, and global governance, helping ING understand and manage customer-driven risks such as mortgage prepayments and savings behaviour. You will have real influence on decision‑making, senior advisory exposure, and a truly international scope.

What you’ll do

  • Own and steer the lifecycle management of customer behavioural risk and replication models across ING
  • Provide global functional oversight of behavioural and replication models used in ALM and Treasury
  • Act as a key sparring partner for model owners, risk stakeholders, and Treasury teams worldwide
  • Perform periodic asset & liability reviews and targeted financial risk analyses
  • Advise senior management and risk committees on behavioural risk topics
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ALM modelling landscape
  • Review and strengthen governance, minimum standards, and model alignment with Financial Risk policies

Who we’re looking for

You are a quantitative, curious, and pragmatic risk professional who enjoys solving complex problems in a global setting. You combine technical expertise with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders.

You bring:

  • A strong understanding of market and banking risks (interest rate, liquidity, FX)
  • Awareness of regulatory developments and the dynamics of a global banking group
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to act as an expert advisor
  • High standards, ownership mentality, and the ability to deliver in a dynamic environment

Your profile & skills

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the financial sector (banking preferred)
  • Solid knowledge of Asset & Liability Management and risk management concepts
  • Strong understanding of financial products and modelling frameworks
  • Hands‑on experience with Python and Power BI for data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment

What we offer

  • A competitive salary aligned with your experience and impact
  • 24–27 vacation days, depending on contract
  • 13th month salary, pension scheme, and 8% holiday allowance
  • Individual Savings Contribution (BIS) of 3.5% of gross annual salary
  • A culture that values personal growth, ownership, and innovation
  • An open, informal, and intellectually stimulating work environment
  • Flexible and agile ways of working that help ideas move fast
