Job Description

The Financial Risk Analyst will support the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) in the execution and monitoring of financial risk management activities across the Retail, Wholesale, and Fleet portfolios. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, sound risk management knowledge, and the ability to provide meaningful insights to support business decision-making.

  • Support the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) in the day-to-day execution of financial risk management activities within VWFS.
  • Utilise advanced Excel modelling techniques to collect, analyse, and interpret risk data. Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools, where appropriate, to enhance analysis, improve reporting, and support process automation.
  • Assist the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) with the operational execution of financial risk management activities within VWFS.
  • Utilise advanced Excel modelling techniques to collect, analyse, and interpret risk data. Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools where appropriate to enhance analytical capabilities, efficiency, and automation.
  • Provide effective oversight of credit risk management activities performed by VWFS's business partner. As credit risk is a key driver of the business, the incumbent must be able to critically evaluate, challenge, and provide input on credit risk assumptions, methodologies, models, and analytical outcomes.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the credit risk models provided by VWFS SA's partner, including how these models respond to changes in macroeconomic conditions, portfolio performance, and customer behavioural trends.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance Excel-based risk models to identify trends, assess risk exposures, and support business decision-making.
  • Deliver credit risk analytics and insights to support credit risk strategies, acquisition strategies, the company's risk appetite framework, and portfolio risk tolerance objectives.
  • Collate, analyse, and interpret financial and risk-related information, producing regular and ad hoc financial risk management reports to support risk and finance decision-making across the business.
  • Support the management and monitoring of other risk categories under the guidance of the FRM, including, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Earnings Risk, Model Risk, Business Insurance Risk, Sustainability Risk, Residual Value Risk
  • Present analytical findings, recommendations, and risk insights to stakeholders and management in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
  • Provide support on ad hoc projects, analyses, and risk management initiatives as required.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantitative Finance or relevant Financial degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of relevant experience within a quantitative role
  • Vehicle asset finance or banking experience would be advantageous
