You will be part of the IT/R&D and Functional Cost Controlling team, with a primary focus on creating reliable reports, enhancing reporting quality, and strengthening the overall cost-controlling process. This role is not designed as a direct stakeholder-management role; however, the role is expected to flag and escalate deviations, risks or data-quality issues to the Finance Partner when required. The position should be seen as the backbone of the R&D Cost Controlling process, ensuring accurate reporting, strong ownership, and timely support across month-close and planning cycles.

What you will do

  • Financial Close & Controlling
  • Own monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and prepayments.
  • Review cost-center results, analyze variances and escalate deviations or data-quality issues to the Finance Partner where required.

  • Ensure accurate reporting in line with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.
  • possess the ability to work with cross-functional and international teams
  • Support internal and external audits with clear, complete and audit-ready documentation.
  • Reporting, Analysis & Process Support
  • • Prepare budgets, forecasts, management reports and variance analysis against plan, forecast and prior periods.
  • • Track purchase order and invoice balances to monitor commitments and open items.
  • • Provide clear reporting insights and exception-based analysis to support the Finance Partner and business decision-making.
  • Process Improvement
  • • Drive standardization, simplification and automation of reporting, reconciliation and month-close processes.
  • • Enhance reporting efficiency through advanced Excel skills, Power BI support, data quality checks and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in Financial Controlling, Cost Controlling, FP&A, R2R or General Accounting.
  • Hands-on experience in month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Experience in an established multinational, Big 4, global shared services or leading listed-company environment is strongly preferred.
  • Practical experience working with global teams and established MNC governance, controls and reporting timelines.
  • Experience with financial planning and consolidation tools such as Jedox, Hyperion or equivalent is an advantage.

Personal competencies

Commanding knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, Power Query and large-data reconciliations.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or equivalent; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.

Fluent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate clearly with international teams.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, ownership and ability to deliver under tight deadlines.

Comfortable working independently in a complex, global and cross-functional environment.

Continuous-improvement mindset with high standards of accuracy, compliance and professional conduct.
