EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced reporting and analytics professional to join our Capital Delivery & Commercial Finance team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

This role has been created to strengthen our finance reporting capability during a critical period of AMP8 delivery. You'll lead the development and enhancement of high-quality financial reporting, dashboards and management information, helping stakeholders make informed decisions through clear, accurate and insightful performance data.

Working closely with finance and operational teams, you'll play a key role in shaping reporting standards, improving data quality and governance, and delivering meaningful insights that support investment decisions and performance management across the business.

This is a delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys building reporting solutions, solving complex data challenges and driving continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the design, development and delivery of reporting frameworks, dashboards and management information across Capital Delivery & Commercial Finance.
  • Establishing consistent reporting standards, definitions, controls and governance to ensure accurate and trusted information.
  • Providing high-quality financial and performance analysis by bringing together data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Identifying key risks, opportunities and performance drivers to support decision-making and business planning.
  • Partnering with senior finance and operational stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver valuable insights.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for finance reporting and data within Capital Delivery.
  • Challenging assumptions, improving reporting methodologies and ensuring outputs remain robust and fit for purpose.
  • Driving automation, simplification and continuous improvement across reporting processes.
  • Ensuring data integrity through strong controls, issue resolution and effective governance practices.
  • Providing technical leadership on reporting design, data structures and best practice approaches.

HOW WE WORK

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

You'll have experience developing reporting and analytical solutions that support business decision-making and will be comfortable working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources.

We're particularly interested in professionals who have:

  • Experience building and maintaining automated reporting and dashboards, particularly using Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into meaningful insight.
  • Experience partnering with finance and operational stakeholders in a complex business environment.
  • A strong understanding of finance reporting processes, data structures and governance principles.
  • The ability to work through ambiguity and develop practical, effective reporting solutions.
  • Confidence to challenge data, assumptions and existing ways of working where appropriate.

Skills & Capabilities

Technical Skills

  • Strong Power BI reporting, dashboard development and data visualisation experience.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and reporting best practices.
  • Understanding of finance data, reporting processes and data flows.
  • Awareness of financial controls, governance and assurance requirements.
  • Ability to analyse large datasets and identify trends, risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI (or currently working towards certification)
  • Financial qualification or part-qualified accountant
