Department Overview

This position is assigned to "IT Planning Department (ITPD)" of Rakuten Group, Inc. and mainly be in charge of financial reporting of Tech cost. ITPD's mission is "Contribute to Businesses by IT Finance".

We are responsible for the management accounting of development cost (Tech cost), which includes budgeting, forecasting, various analyses, and reporting.

Position:

Position Details

This position will be assigned to the group responsible for reporting and analysis.

Main responsibilities would be as follows:

(1) Reporting, Data analysis, and Delivery insight

- Prepare cost analysis reports and provide to stakeholders including executives, product managers, business managers, and relevant finance members.

- Improve existing reports and create new reports.

- Drive the migration from static Excel & PowerPoint-based report to interactive dashboard with BI tools, etc.

(2) Data Integration and Standardization

- Combine data from multiple data sources in different formats to create appropriate data tables for reporting & analysis.

- Standardize data tables as much as possible to ensure consistency across teams.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 3+ years experience in Financial Analyst, Financial Controller, Business Analyst, BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or comparable fields

- Strong Excel skills (Power Query is plus)

- Business level Japanese

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw insights

- Experience working with large data sets

- Experience with data visualization software such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI

- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

- Experience managing finance/accounting process improvement or technology projects

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
