Job Title: Financial & Regulatory Reporting - Associate

Location: Mumbai, India

  • You will be part of the Finance Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance (QA) team, who perform reviews of regulatory reports to help manage governance and regulatory risk related to data. You will work closely with Finance personnel to document processes, assess Key Operating Procedures, assesses the design and operating effectiveness of controls, as well as assess the completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of data used in the regulatory reports and you will report findings in formal findings reports. You will collaborate with data providers to ensure complete and comprehensive reporting. The team will help ensure the effective management of data into financial and regulatory reporting.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will work with key counterparts in the regulatory production team, as well as with providers of data (operations, front office, technology) as part of the Quality Assurance (QA) function to assist in the execution of the annual Regulatory Reporting QA review plan

  • You will assist in Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance (QA) reviews in accordance with the Quality Assurance (QA) Framework standards, which includes testing of controls and testing of transactions against the requirements for regulatory reporting

  • You will assist and provide input to draft Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance (QA) issues (as they arise) and issue formal reports that document the control deficiency or report inaccuracy, root cause and regulatory impact of the issues discovered during the review

  • You will assist in creating the Quality Assurance (QA) informational material for various Control Forum meetings and presentations

  • You will work with Data, Tech, and Process owners in the monitoring (i.e., follow-up and closing) and remediation of the outstanding Quality Assurance (QA) issues. This involves negotiating and working with leads form other divisions and departments

  • You will develop and maintain strong relationships within Finance and other areas of the Bank globally to build an understanding of the end-to-end control environments

  • Adhoc projects, as needed

Your skills and experience

Skills required

  • Strong data and analytical capability as an understanding of project management

  • A basic understanding of control principles used in financial reporting

  • Work experience in a team and demonstrated ability to solve problems

  • Relevant experience in Financial Services, Regulatory Reporting and/or Treasury is necessary

  • Degree in Accounting or related field

Skills that will help you excel

  • A strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work within a team to meet deadlines

  • Contributing to project plans and monitoring milestones as well as metrics toward completion by given deadlines

  • Good data and analytical capability and an understanding of project management

  • Understanding of controls and practical application of control principles as well as an understanding of front-to-back control environments; experience in Financial Services, Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR), Regulatory Reporting and/or Treasury a plus
