Job Description

Brooks Macdonald Group plc is one of the UK's leading wealth management firms, recognised for investment performance and client service. We offer leading multi-asset investment services to intermediaries, and high-quality financial planning advice to private clients, benefitting from a strong local presence across the UK.

We offer fulfilling careers in an inclusive culture that values diversity, ambition and rewards high performance.

Our values (we call them our guiding principles) underpin our culture and are at the heart of everything we do:

  • we do the right thing
  • we are connected
  • we care
  • we make a difference

We welcome talented people from all backgrounds who live our guiding principles and are focused on ensuring good outcomes for our clients.

Role Overview:

To support the Financial Planning business by acting as the operational link between users, Product Ownership, Data and Technology. This fixed-term role provides additional capacity to stabilise Financial Planning systems, progress priority support issues and business requirements, enhance reporting and management information, and reduce manual workarounds.

Success will be measured by visible progress against priority support issues and business requirements, delivery of agreed dashboards, reporting and MI enhancements, improved data quality and documentation, reduced reliance on manual reporting processes, clearer ownership of Financial Planning data and reporting queries, and effective knowledge transfer and handover before the end of the fixed-term contract.

This role can either be based out of London or Altrincham.

Role Responsibilities:

Support:

  • Provide first and second-line functional support for Financial Planning systems, dashboards, MI and related processes.
  • Support users of Intelliflo, Otto, Power BI dashboards, Financial Planning MI packs and associated workflow or reporting tools.
  • Escalate technical, data or supplier issues with clear evidence, impact assessments and expected outcomes.
  • Analyse and improve:
  • Gather and document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and current-state processes.
  • Analyse recurring issues, manual activity and control gaps, recommending proportionate process, system or reporting improvements.
  • Support the move from fragmented and manual reporting to scalable, maintainable and self-service solutions.
  • Deliver and assure change
  • Support solution design, data validation, user acceptance testing, release readiness and post-implementation checks.
  • Reconcile dashboard and MI outputs to source data, identify data-quality issues and coordinate remediation with data owners.
  • Maintain product backlogs, action logs and delivery priorities under the direction of the Financial Planning Product Owner/Client Experience manager and Head of Support.
  • Govern and communicate
  • Maintain system, process and reporting documentation, including support guides, data definitions and operating procedures.
  • Provide clear updates to Financial Planning stakeholders on incidents, priorities, dependencies, risks and delivery progress.
  • Create and maintain handover materials so knowledge, open issues, reporting logic and key processes can be transferred into BAU support before contract end.
  • Deliver user guidance, demonstrations, training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Essential experience of Intelliflo, Power BI, Power Automate, semantic models, Microsoft Fabric, SharePoint and business application support, with the ability to investigate issues, support users, document requirements and improve reporting or workflow processes. Experience within Financial Planning or Wealth Management is also essential.
  • Understanding of Financial Planning or Wealth Management business processes, client servicing and management information.
  • Awareness of data quality, reporting controls.
  • Experience in a product support, business analysis, application support, MI or data-support role.
  • Experience of supporting business systems and resolving user, process or data issues.
  • Experience gathering requirements and supporting testing or implementation of system and reporting changes.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Financial Planning or Wealth Management
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft 365, business application support, reporting, data-quality activity or workflow improvement in a live business environment.
  • The role balances reactive support demands with planned product, reporting and process-improvement activity.
  • The role will need to support priority incidents, reporting deadlines and business-critical month-end activity.

We value different ways of working and actively promote flexible working across our business. Collaboration is important to us as a firm, with employees required to be in the office 3 days a week, and each team having a core in-office day per week.

We’re committed to promoting equal employment opportunities and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, religion or belief, sexuality, age, disability, gender, gender identity, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
