Job Description

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Lithium plays a critical role in the transition to clean energy, and Talison Lithium is the world’s leading lithium minerals producer. We are seeking a seasoned Financial Planning and Analysis Manager (FP&A) to lead enterprise-wide planning, performance insight and decision support for one of Australia’s most important resources operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this senior finance leadership role owns Talison’s enterprise FP&A framework across budgeting, rolling forecasting, long-range planning, management reporting, performance analysis and executive decision support.

  • Lead and continuously improve the enterprise budgeting, rolling forecasting and long-range planning cycle, ensuring plans are driver-based, transparent and aligned to operational and strategic priorities.
  • Provide decision-ready insight to the CFO, Executive Leadership Team and Board on performance, outlook, risks, opportunities and strategic options.
  • Commercially challenge assumptions, cost drivers, capital phasing and business performance through clear, evidence-based analysis.
  • Strengthen reporting and analytics through improved systems, data governance, automation and a reliable single source of financial truth.
  • Lead, coach and develop FP&A capability, setting high standards for analysis, stakeholder service, planning discipline and continuous improvement.

This is a visible, influential role for a commercially astute finance leader who can work across operations, projects and corporate stakeholders, translate complex operational activity into clear financial insight, and drive practical business action. The role is based at our head office in the Perth CBD.

About the Candidate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, with CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum eight years’ progressive finance experience, including senior FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting, finance business partnering or finance manager experience.
  • Proven experience leading budgeting, rolling forecasting, long-range planning, management reporting and performance analysis in a complex operating environment.
  • Strong understanding of mining, resources, minerals processing, heavy industry, manufacturing or another asset-intensive operational environment.
  • Advanced modelling capability, strong commercial judgement and the ability to convert operational drivers, cost structures and capital programs into clear financial outcomes.
  • Confidence preparing Executive and Board-level reporting, including concise commentary, meaningful variance analysis, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
  • Experience using or improving ERP, planning and reporting tools such as SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, dashboards or equivalent finance systems.
  • A practical leadership style, strong stakeholder influence and a continuous improvement mindset.

You will suit this role if you are technically strong, commercially sharp and motivated by the opportunity to lift the quality of financial planning, reporting and decision-making across a complex, growing operation.

Some of the many benefits of working with Talison include:

  • flexible working environment;
  • income protection insurance;
  • life Insurance for company superannuation employees;
  • competitive parental leave policy; and
  • participation in performance-based incentive scheme.
