Job Description

In the Financial Planning and Analysis Intern position, you’ll gain hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis while helping Finance improve reporting, forecasting and business insights. You’ll work with financial data and technology to identify trends, improve processes and support informed business decisions.

Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them.

What You’ll Do and Impact:

  • Support financial planning and analysis by preparing monthly reporting packages used by Finance and business leaders to understand performance.
  • Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends and key business drivers and support forecasting and other forward-looking analyses.
  • Help automate recurring financial reporting using Power BI and AI tools to reduce manual processes and improve visibility into business performance.
  • Partner with Finance and business stakeholders on ad hoc financial analyses, reporting requests and process improvements that support informed decision-making.
  • Communicate financial findings and recommendations through clear presentations and data-driven storytelling.
  • Support periodic tax-related activities, including tax reconciliations and other financial analyses, in partnership with Finance and Accounting Partners.

Skills Needed:

  • Systems Thinking & Problem Solving - Identify the right problems to solve by understanding the broader system – customers, stakeholders, processes, data, technology, and AI. Connect root causes, dependencies, tradeoffs, and upstream and downstream effects to develop practical, scalable solutions that improve the whole.
  • Apply Judgment - Make sound decisions by evaluating data, context, assumptions, risk, and outcomes. Critically assess ideas and AI-generated outputs, consider interdependencies, voice a clear point of view, and own the results and impact.
  • Create & Shape Ideas - Generate, test, and develop new ideas into useful, high-quality solutions and experiences. Use creativity, curiosity, technology, and different perspectives to see around the corner, innovate and develop ideas into outcomes that create value and scale.
  • Influence & Collaborate - Build trust, communicate clearly, and work across boundaries to drive action and shared outcomes. Seek and integrate different perspectives, contribute ideas, work through dependencies, and help teams make progress together through change and ambiguity.
  • Learn & Adapt - Continuously grow and adapt as technology, customer needs, roles, and work systems evolve. Stay curious, learn beyond your core specialty, experiment with new approaches, use AI to accelerate learning, and improve through feedback and setbacks.

Experience:

  • Sophomore or higher standing in a four-year undergraduate program, or enrollment in a graduate program, majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or a similar field.
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis and basic financial modeling.
  • Ability to work full time during the summer (~40 hours/week) and part time during the school year (~15–20 hours/week).

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in AI, analytics, automation or data tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Databricks, SQL, Python or similar technologies.
  • Personal projects, coursework, extracurricular activities or prior internship experience related to finance, analytics, automation or data.
