Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis professional to join us on a fixed term maternity cover. Based in Wanaka, this role is focused on maintaining momentum, supporting day‑to‑day decision‑making, and ensuring continuity of FP&A activities during the cover period.

The FP&A Manager is a senior, hands‑on member of the finance team, responsible for delivering high‑quality financial insight and commercial support across the business. Acting as a trusted business partner, the role interprets performance, evaluates trade‑offs, and supports informed decisions through strong analysis, forecasting and reporting.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver budgets, forecasts and performance reporting that support real‑world commercial decisions
  • Own long-term seasonal forecasting, linking sales outlooks to key planning and trading moments
  • Provide financial inputs into seasonal range planning, including revenue & margin targets, pricing reviews and identifying commercial trade-offs
  • Analyse financial and operational performance, turning data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Build strong relationships to act as a trusted finance partner across teams and leadership levels
  • Maintain and enhance existing reporting and KPI frameworks (including Power BI)
  • Deliver ad‑hoc commercial analysis, including financial viability of new initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Based in Wanaka or able to relocate to Wanaka for the duration of the role.
  • A genuine connection to what we stand for at Mons, pushing boundaries to drive change in an industry dominated by plastics.
  • Strong FP&A or commercial finance experience, ideally in retail, apparel or consumer products. CA or CPA helpful, but not required.
  • Confidence working hands‑on with data, models and performance insights. Very systems-savvy.
  • Curiosity about how AI and smart use of tools can improve forecasting and reporting outcomes.
  • Comfortable partnering with senior leaders, turning numbers into clear, practical insights.
  • An interest in sustainability, carbon measurement, and impact reporting, motivated to expand how performance is measured and communicated.
  • Confidence working across NZ and international operations.
  • A hands-on delivery-focused working style suited to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business.
