The financial analyst will collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and other Department officers to produce financial information and analysis regarding the financial strategic objectives of Southern Bank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Assist in development and preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including budget to actual variances and branch and producer profitability reports to ensure understanding of key drivers with business leaders;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analysis packages for the executive team and board of directors.
  • Assist in Development, enhance and maintain detailed financial models for loan and deposit products, including pricing, volume, and profitability analysis;
  • Complete regular and ad-hoc reporting as well as the preparation of key presentations and special projects as required;
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including growth and revenue initiatives, branch optimization, and cost efficiency;
  • Support automation and efficiency improvements in financial modeling, reporting, and analytics.

QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or, three years’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; and,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with large datasets; familiarity with SQL or other coding languages is preferred.
