About the department:

ING’s Financial Markets Division offers hedging, investment products, and securities financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division. The Institutional Sales team within Financial Markets specializes in marketing investment products and risk management solutions to institutional clients in the financials vertical including Asset Managers, Insurance companies, hedge funds, banks and sponsors.

About the position:

We are seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Emerging Markets (EM) Macro Sales team in New York. This is a client-facing role focused on covering institutional investors across Emerging Markets FX, Rates, and Credit, with responsibility for both primary issuance and secondary market flow. The role sits at the center of the firm’s EM franchise, partnering closely with trading, structuring, and capital markets teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with institutional investors including asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, and banks
  • Drive commercial activity across EM FX, Rates, and Credit products
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing differentiated market insight and trade ideas Identify investor demand for new issuance (sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and corporate)
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of EM primary opportunities
  • Lead client engagement from idea generation through execution
  • Generate trading flow, orders, and axes across EM products
  • Collaborate closely with trading desks to maximize liquidity and execution opportunities
  • Partner with Structuring, DCM, and Research teams to align investor demand with product development
  • Contribute to the design and distribution of tailored EM solutions

Qualifications and Competencies

Requirements:

  • Securities licenses: Series 7, 63, and SIE
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in Emerging Markets institutional sales
  • Strong track record covering real money and/or hedge fund clients
  • Experience across EM FX, Rates, and Credit markets
  • Deep understanding of primary issuance and secondary market dynamics
  • Proven ability to generate revenue and manage a client portfolio
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to originate opportunities

Salary range: $230,000-$275,000

The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
