Assists in performing budget and financial and cost variance analysis, obligation and expenditure forecasting, funds management, cost estimating, and development of program/budget documentation. Experienced in the operation of standardized cost models and spreadsheet applications.

Job Title: Financial Management Support Specialist

Location: Arnold AFB- Tullahoma, TN

Canvas is seeking a qualified individual to provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force in financial management support of program management efforts associated with specific test needs at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, TN. The candidate will provide a wide range of services including procurement support, contract administration assistance, and records management/administrative support for a variety of planning projects.

Duties:

Provide financial management support including, but not limited to, the following

· Monitoring and reporting on cost performance and financial management.

· Implementing cost best practices as a subject matter expert.

· Coordinating and preparing workload revisions.

· Monitoring of project cost performance, and funding availability.

· Coordinating and leading monthly cost performance reviews.

· Supporting the use of common work processes and procedures.

· Monitoring labor, materials, utilities, and other costs for accuracy.

· Coordinating and communicating funding availability and limitations.

· Working with DOD FM on fiscal year workloads and contract revisions.

· Providing financial analysis of current actuals and workloads.

· Monitoring and coordinating updates with AF PM on project cost overruns.

· Performing weekly reconciliation of ACWP and current workloads.

The following skills are highly valued:

· Familiar with AF financial systems, CRIS and CCaR.

· Proficient in Power NI

· Proficient in PeopleSoft.

· Must utilize resources effectively to accomplish mission.

Requirements:

Minimum Education:

FM3-Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Related Field OR substitution as described below

Minimum Experience:

FM3- 3-10 years of experience

Substitutions:

A Bachelor’s degree can be substituted for with 6 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance:

Ability to obtain Secret clearance required for job. May begin work with an interim clearance.

Other Essential Job Functions:

  • Highly Organized Basic Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience
