As a member of the Development team, the Financial Development Assistant provides necessary and integral support to all of the Y's development campaigns, events and initiatives.
HOURS: 15 hours weekly, with variability requiring evening or weekend availability around our major campaign events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates assigned aspects of the annual campaign, special events, endowment efforts and other financial development initiatives.
- Oversees and supports delivery of timely acknowledgement letters and other stewardship activities for all donors including grantors, annual campaign donors, capital campaign donors, special event participants, corporate partners, and heritage society members.
- Supports the Executive Director of Community Engagement & Marketing with all administrative details, including maintaining guest lists, donation and sponsors lists, gathering and preparing registration materials and other duties as assigned for events associated fundraising initiatives.
- Ensures the donor database is accurate and contains pertinent information for prospecting by establishing clean data entry procedures, ongoing collection of new data and purging of old data.
- Acts as a liaison between the Y and donors ensuring that donors are billed, acknowledged and communicated with in ways that build long term relationships. This includes, but is not limited to, receipting payments, invoicing, managing personal thank you systems.
- Assists with the development of the annual giving plan and endowment strategies. Implements all strategies as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to data reports for stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation strategies and communications.
- Acts as a professional member of the staff team by offering input and insight as well as performing all other assignments and responsibilities deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Exceptional skills in the areas of organization, attention to detail, time management, ability to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities and problem solve.
Excellent customer service abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Google Drive; experience with donor software programs and database management, especially Daxko, preferred.
Demonstrated team player with a strong collaboration abilities.
Ability to take initiative with projects to work both independently.
Knowledge of telephone and electronic mail protocol.
Flexibility in schedule required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times for set up and breakdown of events. Noise in the work environment is quiet to moderate, but may increase at special events related to the Annual Campaign.
