Job Description

To support the identification of potential financial crime risks by analysing customer and/or payment information. This includes reviewing transactions and profiles to detect suspicious activity or individuals, in order to help reduce the incidence of financial crimes against the bank. The role involves applying established procedures and guidelines, escalating concerns appropriately, and contributing to the bank’s compliance and risk mitigation efforts.

To support the effective management and mitigation of financial crime risk by conducting transaction and sanctions screening and handling Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) requests in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Are you som eon e who can:

  • Conduct transaction monitoring and sanctions screening reviews in line with regulatory obligations and internal standards.
  • Process, analyse, and respond to Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) requests within prescribed regulatory timelines.
  • Investigate identified financial crime risks and escalate matters in accordance with internal governance frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case documentation, including appropriate audit trails.
  • Support ongoing compliance with AML/CFT legislation, internal policies, and procedures.

  • Relevant qualification: Grade 12, Diploma, Bachelor of Commerce (Law), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in Financial Crime, AML/CFT, Compliance, or a related risk environment.
  • Sound knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, regulatory obligations, and financial crime typologies.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.
