Asa Financial Counselor atMercyOne, youwill be the Financial advocate for the patient and a liaison between Revenue Site Operations (RSO) and Patient Financial Services (PFS).Determinesliability on patient accounts and works with patients or their representatives to provide financialassistanceor secure payment. 

General Requirements:

• Counselspatient on cost of treatment, insurance benefits, resources for payment and financialassistance Secures and documents payment arrangements.  

• Assistspatients in financing, payment plans, financialassistanceand all financial options through the organization.  

• Audits bills for accuracy & edits for front-end inaccuracies to increase collections and decrease write-offs.  

• Works closely with RSO and division leadership to improve collections.  

• Experience in the Medicaid Application process. 

Schedule:

• Monday thru Friday 0800-1630

Education:

• High school diploma or GED. 

• Minimum two (2) to three (3)years experienceworking in Patient Access or Patient Accounting for hospital registration and / or hospital reimbursement services
