About the role

This role combines the financial and corporate accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of BlueRock's financial position while also supporting group wide corporate matters such as statutory compliance, audit, risk and governance, board processes and corporate records.

The role is responsible for month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity and statutory compliance, alongside leading the annual financial statements audit, preparing documentation for Board and Committee meetings and managing the cap table of the company. Success in this role is built on a strong technical accounting foundation, meticulous attention to detail, a strong procedural mindset, and the ability to proactively ensure the company’s corporate governance calendar is being maintained.

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly reporting packs with a high level of detail
  • Analyse and identify variances to budgets and trends in financial data
  • Year-end consolidation and audit processes
  • Balance sheet & compliance
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations across several entities
  • Manage intercompany loan and account reconciliations
  • Own compliance calendars and ensure corporate, financial and tax obligations are completed on time
  • Implement and manage internal financial controls and processes
  • Corporate governance & Board administration
  • Understand board structures, director responsibilities, delegations, conflicts, related-party matters and governance processes
  • Prepare board papers, agendas, resolutions, minutes and action registers; coordinate meeting logistics and follow-ups
  • Entity management & equity administration
  • Maintain the group's corporate structure, entity registers, officeholders, shareholders and key corporate records
  • Maintain share registers, understand share issues, transfers, options, ESOPs, dividends and capital changes

Requirements

We want to hear from people who have:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in an accounting team of a similar size, including exposure to audit or tax related work
  • Tertiary educational qualification in accounting, and in the process of obtaining CA or CPA
  • Understand the relationship between governance, risk management, internal controls and corporate compliance
  • Mentor and support Assistant Accountants and Bookkeepers
  • Contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture consistent with BlueRock's values
  • Strong procedural mindset with high attention to detail • Strong communication skills
