Financial Controls Manager (m/f/d)

About the position:

As Financial Controls Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving JTI’s global internal controls framework across both Finance and Information Technology processes. The role supports compliance with JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements by managing the control framework, coordinating self-assessments, collaborating with auditors, and ensuring the effective remediation of identified issues. Working closely with stakeholders across the organization, you will also contribute to Corporate Controlling projects and support effective risk management and governance.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure the internal control framework remains aligned with JSOX requirements and best practices
  • Support change management activities by evaluating business and IT process changes, identifying financial risks, and assessing potential impacts
  • Evaluate the design and implementation of new and updated JSOX controls
  • Maintain and oversee the Management Self-Assessment and JSOX Remediation processes in line with agreed deadlines
  • Monitor control implementation and collaborate with Local Coordinators and IT teams to ensure effective operation of controls
  • Maintain JSOX tools and ensure control documentation reflects current business and entity changes
  • Cooperate with internal and external auditors throughout assessment and review activities
  • Manage metrics related to Segregation of Duty and SAP transactional risks by analysing business requirements for SAP roles
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and dashboards for senior management audiences
  • Support Corporate Controlling projects and initiatives as required

You as a professional:

  • Independent, structured, and process-oriented professional with strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent prioritization, time management, and self-management capabilities
  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Professional finance qualification such as ACCA or equivalent is considered an advantage
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in a Big Four audit firm or Internal Audit environment is an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills and basic knowledge of Business Intelligence applications
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Additional language skills are considered an advantage
