General Summary

Financial Controller will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting, financial audit and tax for the Company’s corporate gyms and the related gym managed services in Taiwan and Vietnam. This role will report to Group Regional Financial Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Directs all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting, ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the Company’s accounting policies.
2. Coordinates, prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and project leads/manages the external audit of all entities including liaising with external audit firms.
3. Analyses each gym’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
4. Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
5. Coordinates and/or prepares tax schedules, returns and information.
6. Manages cash flow, working capital requirements, foreign currency risk and potential short-term investments.
7. Manages and nurtures bank relationships.
8. Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll, and other applicable taxes.
9. Process improvement: Develops improved and consistent reporting and close processes.
10. Efficiency improvement: Develops improved shared services and AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Fluent in English and Chinese – essential, high level of communication ability (native language skill level)
2. Professional qualifications and experience needed (essential)
   1. Chartered Accountant (CPA or ACCA)
   2. Approximately 6 to 7 years professional experience, including the financial audit related experience in leading accounting firms
   3. Business or Finance degree (Bachelor or Masters)
3. At least 2 to 3 years’ managerial experience leading an accounting or audit project team (10+ heads) - essential.
4. Experiences of working with / managing multinational / multi-cultural teams – essential.
5. Franchise and retail experience – recommended.
6. Experience working with start-up business – recommended.
7. Needs to have high level attention to detail and be organised.
8. Self-starter, responsible, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes.
9. Comfortable with working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
10. Salary Range for this role is RM13K to RM13.5K.
