Job Description
Creditstar Sweden AB is establishing and expanding its Swedish finance function as part of its continued growth and regulatory development. We are looking for a Financial Controller who enjoys building, improving and owning finance processes in a fast-moving environment.
This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility across accounting, reporting, systems and process development. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and play a key role in establishing a scalable and efficient finance function.
About the role
The role combines operational accounting responsibilities with process improvement, systems development and financial reporting. The position requires a person who enjoys working both in the details and on the bigger picture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of financial reporting and supporting analyses.
- Tax calculations, income tax reporting and liaison with external advisors.
- Monitoring and validation of accounting system outputs and interfaces.
- Investigation and resolution of accounting, reporting and system-related issues.
- Supporting implementations of new systems, processes and reporting solutions.
- Assisting in the development of accounting policies, controls and documentation.
- Supporting audits and interactions with external stakeholders and outsourcing partners.
- Participating in the establishment of scalable finance processes and operating models.
- Contributing to projects relating to regulatory reporting, data quality and finance transformation.

Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Several years of experience in accounting, financial control or external audit.
- Experience from a regulated environment, financial services, banking or lending and treasury is beneficial, but not a requirement.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in practical and daily application of Swedish laws such as Swedish Companies Act, Annual Accounts Act, Bookkeeping Act, Income Tax Act.
- Strong systems aptitude and interest in process improvement and automation.
- Professional proficiency in English and Swedish.
