Job Description

Are you a financially sharp controller with a real feel for payroll? Do you enjoy digging into the details, spotting discrepancies, strengthening partnerships between Finance, HR, and external partners and being the person people turn to for everything related to pay? Then you might be our new Financial Controller at PanzerGlass.

PanzerGlass® is globally recognised as one of the leading brands in device protection. Based in our Hinnerup office, you will play a key role in strengthening our finance function – ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across payroll processes in an international setup spanning multiple countries. In addition, you will be a valued and trusted partner to HR, who you support and collaborate with on processes and projects that sit at the intersection of Finance and HR (salary adjustment, salary benchmark (Mercer), compensation & benefits, etc.).

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for payroll accounting, financial controlling, and compensation across the PanzerGlass Group. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and validating monthly payroll processes across multiple countries

  • Ensuring accurate reconciliation of payroll-related payments and settlements to the general ledger, including salaries, taxes, and third-party providers

  • Supporting month-end closing, including accruals for salaries, bonuses, and holiday pay

  • Preparing documentation and supporting internal and external audits related to payroll and assigned entities

  • Ensuring compliance with local legislation and internal controls

  • Analysing payroll costs, variances, and trends, and explaining deviations versus prior year and budget

  • Acting as the key link between Finance, HR, and external payroll providers

  • Serving as the organisation’s primary point of contact for compensation-related matters, including salary, commission structures, and other elements of total reward

  • Updating and maintaining HR data with a high degree of confidentiality, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across systems

  • Driving process improvements, standardisation, and system optimisation

  • Handling smaller foreign entities end-to-end, including bookkeeping, payroll oversight, and month-end closing

  • Ensuring proper control and reconciliation of webshop payment providers

Your profile

You hold a relevant degree in economics or finance – such as HA, HD, Cand.merc., or equivalent – and you bring solid hands-on experience in financial controlling with a payroll component. You're structured and detail-oriented, but also proactive and solution-focused when issues arise. Experience in compensation and benefits is a strong advantage. You handle sensitive data with discretion, work across Finance and HR with ease, and you’re proactive and solution-focused when issues arise.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Solid experience in financial controlling, combined with payroll processes

  • Strong understanding of accounting, including reconciliation, accruals, and month-end processes

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and payroll systems, such as D365 BC, Lessor, or HiBob

  • The ability to handle sensitive HR and compensation data with full confidentiality and professional discretion

  • The ability to independently identify, investigate, and follow up on findings and discrepancies

  • A structured, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

It's a plus if you have international experience or have handled smaller entities independently.

We offer

  • A company with best-in-class employee survey results – we are listed among the best workplaces in Denmark and Europe

  • A culture of inclusivity and global collaboration, valuing and celebrating diverse perspectives

  • An opportunity to join our trial for a 4-day workweek

  • A unique opportunity to join a global organisation

  • Professional and highly skilled colleagues who set the bar high

  • Flexible working hours
