About us:

Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Our global network delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customers' operations and supply chains.

We're currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Greece.

This is a key finance leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet, compliance with Group policies and statutory requirements, and the delivery of accurate financial reporting. The Financial Controller will lead the local accounting activities, support treasury and tax initiatives, and act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits.

• Financial Control & Compliance: Ensure accuracy, integrity and compliance with accounting standards and Group policies across all financial reporting activities.
• Statutory & Tax Management: Manage all local statutory, accounting and tax requirements, ensuring deadlines and regulatory obligations are met.
• Balance Sheet Ownership: Lead balance sheet reconciliation processes and ensure the health and accuracy of all balance sheet accounts.
• Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring successful completion of audits and compliance reviews.
• Treasury & Cash Management: Monitor cash positions, support cash repatriation plans, and work closely with Group Treasury and Tax teams.
• Intercompany Management: Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations and resolution of balances with Group affiliates.
• Team Leadership: Build and develop the local finance team, providing guidance and expertise across accounting and financial matters.
• Business Integrity: Promote a strong control environment and uphold Intertek's Code of Ethics with zero tolerance for non-compliance.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar Finance role within an international organization.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, statutory reporting, taxation and financial controls.
• Experience managing audits and working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent Greek and good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of SUN and COGNOS systems would be considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with local and Group Finance teams.
