Join us as a Financial Controller, Director

  • This key role will see you leading a team with responsibility for the delivery of end-to-end financial control activity
  • Will be responsible for overseeing the entire Financial Control function
  • We’ll look to you to proactively establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders, and the wider Finance team

What you'll do

As Financial Controller, you’ll ensure the integrity, accuracy, and robustness of all financial, statutory, regulatory, and management reporting The role requires a combination of strong stewardship and control discipline, alongside a commercial and business-focused mindset. The Financial Controller is charged with modernising the Financial Control function through technology, automation, advanced analytics, and data-driven assurance.

Through the course of your work, you’ll:

  • Take ownership for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial reporting
  • Challenge stakeholders constructively while providing commercially viable solutions
  • Provide sound analytical reviews, challenges and analysis to customers
  • Negotiate the delivery of day-to-day and ad hoc outputs, and deal with non-delivery issues as and when they arise
  • Act as the key customer relationship manager between the business area and the offshore team
  • Initiate continuous improvement projects to automate and streamline financial control activities

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring extensive post-qualification experience in a finance environment, preferably the financial services industry. Lead activities such as balance sheet substantiation, variance analysis, and cost analysis You’ll have experience of working at a senior management level, with multiple reporting lines across a global matrix environment.

We’ll also look to you to bring:

  • Experience of providing senior management with detailed financial information
  • Proven ability in transformation and people leadership, with expertise in analytics, automation, and AI-driven tools
  • Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of finance data architecture and operate effectively across both legacy and modern platforms
  • The ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships and challenge as needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • Strong technical accounting and analytical skills, a control mindset, and comprehensive regulatory knowledge
  • The ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines
  • Professional qualification preferred: CA, CPA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent
