
Join Scandic’s New Common Finance Shared Service Center – Accounting and Financial Control.
Scandic has introduced a new common organizational structure, SSC Finance to manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Accounting and Financial Control across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The primary focus of this initiative is to drive automation, streamline processes, and provide harmonized support to suppliers, customers, and our hotels.
We are now looking for a Financial Controller with a strong focus on accounting, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
As a Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional, Nordic team supporting hotel operations and collaborating across borders. This shared service model is designed to harmonize workflows and enhance efficiency across the finance function.
Our primary systems include D365 Finance, Board, and Basware, with support requests managed via ServiceNow.
The Accounting & Financial Control team consists of 13 colleagues located across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The preferred location for this role is our support office in Oslo.
What you'll do:
·Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
·Reconcile and review balance sheet accounts
·Handle journals, fixed assets, allocations, intercompany transactions and reporting
·Perform annual report, tax declaration and handling audit questions.
·Provide financial support and share best practices with stakeholders
·Update and maintain accounting instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance
·Contribute to continuous improvements and development of financial processes and routines
·You have a solid understanding of accounting principles and relevant legal regulations, with approximately 5-10 years of experience in finance
·You hold a degree in finance or a related field
·You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications
·You have strong communication skills and are fluent in English and Norwegian
·Experience working in a multi-country finance organization is considered an advantage
·You are structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
·You are adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn new systems and ways of working
