Your Crew

This position is located in our Center of Excellence in Lisbon. You'll be responsible for the execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cost controlling & accounting processes within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and standardized processes across Group entities. Serves as a subject matter expert for cost controlling & accounting and month-end closing activities, supports forecasting and planning processes, and contributes to the harmonization of financial procedures across countries. This role is a link between accounting and controlling.

Your Mission

SAP S/4HANA Controlling Processes

• Review periodically controlling master data structures, including cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and project-related master data.
• Configure, monitor, and execute controlling settlement processes within SAP S/4HANA, including:
• Cost center settlements
• Internal order settlements
• Project settlements
• Asset Under Construction (AuC) settlements
• Periodic allocations and assessments
• Depreciation processing
• Ensure settlement rules and allocation cycles are correctly maintained and aligned with business and accounting requirements.
• Support testing, validation, and process enhancements related to SAP S/4HANA Controlling functionalities.

Period-End Closing Activities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end controlling activities in accordance with Group closing schedules. Execute and monitor recurring controlling processes and system runs to ensure complete and accurate financial results.
• Prepare and post reclassification, allocation, and adjustment entries were required. Supports with the intercompany billing (submits the information to the billing team with the data in regards IC recharges, checks the invoices created by billing and submits for processing).
• Investigate and resolve controlling-related closing issues in collaboration with Accounting and business stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity and completeness of controlling information used for financial reporting including ICS-documentation.

Process Standardization and Continuous Improvement

• Analyze existing controlling processes across countries and business units and identify opportunities for standardization and harmonization.

• Support the alignment of local finance processes with Group standards and SAP best practices.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, automation, and control effectiveness.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Center Planning

• Support annual budget and periodic forecast cycles by providing and maintaining planning templates and supporting tools.
• Prepare and update cost center planning files with latest actual financial data.
• Validate data quality and ensure consistency between planning and actual reporting environments.
• Support finance stakeholders in planning submissions and variance analysis activities.

Financial Data Quality and Reporting Support

• Monitor controlling data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Support the preparation of management reporting by providing reliable cost center, project, and allocation information.
• Perform reconciliations between Controlling (CO) and Financial Accounting (FI) modules.
• Assist in the analysis of cost development, allocations, and project performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Billing, Project Management, and local Finance teams to ensure accurate financial processing. Support business users with controlling-related system and process questions. Act as a key contact for controlling processes within SAP S/4HANA and provide expertise during system deployments and enhancements.

Your Story

Must’s:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or adequate experience
• 3+ years of experience in accounting role within a multinational environment
• Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and use SAP (experience in S/4HANA Cloud Solutions is a strong plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel

Nice to have’s:

• Experience in Finance Shared Services for a Global Company
• Works on initiatives to improve project accounting operations and document management processes
