Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day financial management of the business.

The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, effective cash flow management, and timely management information. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, combining hands-on accounting expertise with commercial financial insight.

The business operates through companies in Estonia, Cyprus, and the UK, so the role requires experience working in an international, multi-entity environment, including the consolidation of financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End

• Own and manage the monthly financial close process.
• Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Consolidate financial results across the Estonian, Cypriot, and UK entities.
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and the general ledger is accurate.
• Prepare variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Develop and maintain relevant financial and operational KPIs.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts.
• Work with department heads to understand performance and key financial drivers.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Support management with scenario analysis and financial modelling.

Cash Flow & Working Capital

• Maintain short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit control.
• Monitor the company's cash position, working capital, and supplier payment cycles.
• Ensure appropriate banking and payment controls are in place.

Tax, Compliance & Audit

• Manage the annual statutory accounts process and coordinate external audits.
• Ensure VAT, payroll taxes, and other statutory filings are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers, and other professional advisers across relevant jurisdictions.

Processes & Controls

• Continuously improve finance processes, systems, and internal controls.
• Ensure the finance function operates efficiently and provides accurate and reliable information to management; and
• Any other duties relevant to the role.

Experience & Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or in a similar role.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Proven experience working with international, multi-entity businesses.
• Experience with group consolidation and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Xero.
• Experience improving financial processes, systems, and controls.
• Experience working in an SME or entrepreneurial environment is advantageous.
