Job Description

Role Overview:

A hands-on senior finance/accounting role responsible for the full bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, working capital, inventory controls and internal controls of the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the complete bookkeeping and accounting function, including GL, AP, AR, journals, accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheets, cash-flow reports and annual financial information.
Manage cash flow, debtor collections, creditor payments and working capital.
Oversee inventory accounting, costing, valuation and reconciliations.
Ensure proper financial controls across purchasing, inventory, sales, invoicing, collections and settlements.
Develop and improve financial processes, policies, approval procedures and internal controls.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, banks and external service providers.
Provide management with accurate financial information and advice on financial risks and business performance.
Help centralise and strengthen the Group's finance and reporting function as it grows.

Requirements

Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant, preferably ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent.

Strong practical experience in bookkeeping, financial accounting, management accounting or financial control.

Ideally experienced at Senior Accountant, Assistant Financial Controller or Financial Controller level.

Strong knowledge of AR, AP, cash flow, working capital and reconciliations.

Experience with management accounts and annual financial reporting.

Inventory, trading, distribution or other operational business experience is advantageous.

Experience with multiple entities/group structures, internal controls and process improvement is beneficial.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Must be practical, independent, dependable and commercially minded, with a willingness to remain hands-on with transactional finance.
