The purpose of the Financial Controller – Kenya role at Flora Food Group is to lead and strengthen the financial control environment for the Kenya business while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and governance. The role is responsible for driving month-end close activities, balance sheet integrity, cashflow visibility, and statutory reporting in alignment with global finance standards. It serves as a key business partner to regional and global stakeholders across finance, tax, treasury, and supply chain functions. The position also ensures timely VAT, corporate tax, and audit compliance while improving controllership processes and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in supporting business growth through strong financial insights, accountability, and proactive risk management. The Financial Controller is expected to drive continuous improvement and deliver high-quality financial leadership within a fast-paced international environment.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?

• Strong Technical Finance Expertise – Success in this role requires deep experience in financial controlling, Record-to-Report (R2R), IFRS, VAT, corporate tax, statutory reporting, and audit management. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in international environments, with exposure to SAP S/4HANA and preferably Big 4 experience.
• Excellent Communication & Business Partnering Skills – The role demands the ability to clearly communicate complex financial insights to senior stakeholders across finance, treasury, tax, supply chain, and commercial teams while building strong relationships in a virtual global operating model.
• Ownership, Delivery Focus & Growth Mindset – A successful candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on, with the ability to independently lead month-end close, balance sheet management, cashflow forecasting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Leadership & Continuous Improvement Mindset – To excel in this role, the individual must demonstrate accountability, resilience, and the ability to challenge the status quo by driving financial control improvements, strengthening governance, improving efficiencies, and contributing to business growth in a fast-paced environment at Flora Food Group
