We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Financial Controller to work in our Finance Division.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis, and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is an Associate position within our Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting Job Family which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.

What you’ll do in the role
Monitor and reconcile the Firm’s books and records and work together with a broader team to make sure that those are correct
Provide detailed analyses on monthly, quarterly and yearly expense variances, define main drivers
Create value-add analytics on revenues, expenses, and other performance metrics.
Develop an understanding of Morgan Stanley's product lines and structure in order to answer ad-hoc queries
Understand various calculations and complex data flows into systems, while looking to enhance current processes through automation and optimization
What you’ll bring to the role
Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or related field with 2+ years of experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong communication skills - ability to communicate effectively across all levels
Good time management skills with an ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet demanding deadlines
Good to have: Familiarity with VBA / SQL / Alteryx or experience with BI reporting and data visualization tools - such as Tableau, Cognos
