Northland Controls is seeking an experienced and strategic finance leader to oversee all aspects of our regional accounting function based in Letchworth, UK. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting business decision-making in alignment with both global and regional accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close and financial reporting process, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements
- Ensure accurate internal and external reporting of financial transactions
- Present financial analyses, forecasts, and key insights to executive leadership
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, bankers, and vendors
- Analyze financial trends and recommend improvements to drive business performance
- Optimize and streamline accounting processes, leveraging SAP Business One
- Collaborate with international finance teams on global initiatives
- Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and improved financial outcomes
- Support Business Unit General Managers on financial planning and analysis
- Oversee cash flow management and treasury activities
- Lead continuous process improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the CFO

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or equivalent UK qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience preferred
- Experience with SAP, ideally SAP Business One
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or equivalent certification (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Construction industry experience is a plus

Work Environment
- Office-based, primarily sedentary role
Position Details
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Occasional international travel required
