(Senior) Financial Controller (Manufacturing)
Location: Arad area, Romania
Reporting to: Plant Manager
For a confidential manufacturing organisation in the Arad area, we are supporting the search for a (Senior) Financial Controller to lead plant-level financial controlling and act as a key business partner to operations.
The Financial Controller is responsible for financial performance, controlling, and decision support for the Arad manufacturing plant. The role operates within a matrix organisation, collaborating closely with shared service centres and complex internal stakeholders, while maintaining strong ownership at plant level.
Key Responsibilities
Full financial controlling responsibility for a manufacturing plant
Business partnering with Plant Management, Operations, and Supply Chain
Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, and variance analysis
Financial analysis to proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Coordination with Shared Service and corporate finance functions
Leadership and development of a small local finance team
Ensuring compliance with internal policies, reporting standards, and controls
Active involvement in operational and supply chain cost optimisation initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, ideally within manufacturing
MBA or additional finance/accounting certifications considered a strong advantage
Solid hands-on experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of operations, supply chain finance, and plant controlling
Proven leadership experience in a matrix and stakeholder-heavy environment
Proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong business acumen
Fluent English required
