This role is part of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business, which is expected to become an independent company under new ownership by mid-2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Role Purpose

The Financial Controller – EMEA is the dedicated Finance Business Partner to EMEA Procurement and IT, with end-to-end financial ownership of all procurement spend (direct and indirect) and IT expenditure across a multi-country European organisation.

The role focuses on financial governance, cost transparency, value realisation, and decision support in a product-led, technology-driven environment characterised by:

  • Direct sourcing from the Far East
  • Multiple manufacturing plants across Europe
  • High IT spend (ERP, cloud infrastructure, licensing and tools)

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Finance Ownership (Direct & Indirect)

  • Act as Finance Business Partner to EMEA Procurement and Category Management
  • Own financial oversight of all procurement spend, including:
    • Direct procurement
    • Indirect procurement (professional services, IT opex, facilities, logistics, marketing, corporate spend)
  • Provide category-level cost analysis, spend visibility, and insights across EMEA
  • Develop and maintain standard procurement financial KPIs and dashboards

2. Far East Sourcing Financial Management

  • Own planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for Far East sourcing
  • Provide financial analysis covering:
    • Total cost of ownership
    • Unit cost movements
    • FX exposure (primarily USD)
    • Freight, duty, and landed cost impact
  • Support supplier negotiations through should-cost modelling and savings analysis

3. Plant-Wise Orders & Commitments Tracking

  • Track incoming purchase orders and open commitments by: Manufacturing plant, Supplier, Category / product, Currency
  • Ensure visibility of commitments versus budget and forecast
  • Proactively identify risks related to:
    • Volume changes
    • Price movements
    • Timing and phasing impacts on margin and working capital
  • Partner with plant controllers on commitment-to-actual reconciliation

4. MPV & PPV Governance

  • Own MPV (Manufacturing Purchase Variance) and PPV (Purchase Price Variance) reporting across EMEA
  • Ensure consistent calculation logic and governance
  • Perform root-cause analysis covering: Supplier pricing, Volume and mix effects
  • Align MPV/PPV outcomes with: Procurement savings. Margin bridge analysis, Management performance reporting

5. Procurement Savings Validation

  • Independently validate procurement savings initiatives
  • Track and report realised savings, including: Price reductions, Commercial term improvements, Volume leverage benefits
  • Ensure savings are correctly reflected in budgets, forecasts, and P&L
  • Distinguish between: One-off vs recurring; Structural vs temporary savings

6. Working Capital & Cash Impact

  • Analyse the working capital impact of procurement decisions, including:
    • Payment terms and advance payments
    • Order timing and inventory build
  • Support initiatives to: Improve DPO and Reduce excess and slow-moving inventory
  • Link procurement activity to balance sheet and cash flow outcomes

7. IT Finance & Technology Controlling (EMEA)

  • Own IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across EMEA
  • Provide financial governance over:
    • ERP platforms
    • Cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP)
    • Data, cybersecurity, and infrastructure costs
    • Software and enterprise licensing
  • Partner with IT leadership to:
    • Challenge demand and cost drivers
    • Optimise run vs change spend
    • Review and rationalise license usage
  • Support investment cases and capex vs opex assessment

8. Financial Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure strong financial controls across procurement and IT spend
  • Support month-end close, accruals, and variance explanations
  • Deliver clear, decision-focused reporting for: EMEA leadership; Group / Private Equity stakeholders (where applicable)
  • Drive standardisation of procurement financial metrics across EMEA
  • Act as the single point of truth for procurement financials in the region

9. Strategic & Transformation Support

  • Provide finance support for:
    • ERP implementations and system migrations
    • Procurement and digital transformation initiatives
    • Post-merger integration activities
  • Identify and drive cost optimisation and value creation opportunities

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in FP&A or Finance Business Partnering roles
  • Strong background in Procurement Finance (Far East sourcing experience preferred)
  • Experience in multi-country, matrix organisations
  • Solid understanding of IT cost structures, ERP systems, cloud platforms, and licensing models
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
