Job Description

We’re looking for a Business Analyst who combines strong analytical thinking with business and financial acumen. In this role, you’ll work across business, finance, IT, and project teams to understand how the organization operates, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn data into insights that support better decisions.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys more than just building reports. You’ll have a hand in business process analysis, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and process improvement—while partnering with stakeholders across the organization to help turn ideas and requirements into practical solutions.

If you’re naturally curious, comfortable working with data, and enjoy solving business problems, this role gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area( Near Hobby Airport) for the interview process and work environment.

What You'll Do

Analyze the Business & Find Opportunities

  • Partner with business and finance teams to understand operational and financial needs.
  • Lead and participate in requirements-gathering discussions and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Analyze business processes and financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct gap analyses and impact assessments to evaluate proposed changes and initiatives.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, reporting, efficiency, and business performance.

Support Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and reporting cycles.
  • Help develop business models and workflows that support organizational initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs and business metrics and provide insights into performance and trends.
  • Support banking covenant requirements and investment reporting.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and operational analyses to support leadership decision-making.

Turn Data Into Action

  • Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, and other tools that make complex information easier to understand.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, Accounting, Finance, and Project Management to translate requirements into practical solutions.
  • Help ensure that business solutions align with organizational, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Support projects and initiatives that improve how the organization operates.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means becoming a trusted analytical partner to the business. You'll be someone stakeholders can rely on to:

  • Ask the right questions and uncover the real business need.
  • Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Identify problems before they become bigger issues.
  • Improve processes rather than simply reporting on them.
  • Deliver accurate, timely analysis that supports better decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, IT, Operations, and other business functions.
  • Balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, FP&A, financial analysis, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with both business and finance teams.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and corporate finance principles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis.
  • Experience with business process improvement or requirements analysis.
  • Relevant professional certifications.
