Job Description

Kern River Gas Transmission Company is looking for an analytical professional to join our Finance team. Whether you're early in your career or bringing several years of experience, the candidate could be hired at the Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst II, or Senior Financial Analyst level, based on experience.

  • Partner closely with leaders across the organization to deliver financial reporting and insights and support long‑range planning.
  • Responsible for compiling and preparing financial reports and data.
  • Provide concise variance analysis of actual performance compared to plans, forecasts, prior periods, and supports and/or leads planning across the organization.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and staff to develop forecasts and long‑range financial plans that support business strategy.
  • Compile, consolidate, and analyze financial data to create accurate reports
  • Own and enhance budget and forecasting models, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with underlying business processes.
  • Provide technical input on project planning and cash‑flow analysis, and in senior roles, lead these efforts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Support teams across the business with special projects, ad hoc analysis, data validation, and management-ready summaries.
  • Stay curious and proactive, taking on additional responsibilities and helping improve processes.

Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field. Three or more years of related experience in financial planning, financial accounting, economics. Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree. Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Meet deadlines with the ability to interact well with all levels of management and team members. Ability to learn new systems and cross-train. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of financial analysis methods and tools, including the ability to ascertain how transaction affects areas of financial statements. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under time constraints and function well under pressure.

Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Oracle and Utilities International (UI) helpful. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
