Job Objective:

Responsible for evaluating and reporting on the financial performance of assigned departments through the annual operating budget process, variance and statistical reports, and other analysis. May be required to provide guidance and hands-on support to the Business Development, Program Implementation, and Continuing Education Departments in areas that involve financial analysis and/or accounting knowledge.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Responsible for developing, coordinating and continually improving assigned areas of the weekly/monthly statistical and financial reporting, customarily exercising discretion while working independently. 3. Responsible for the month-end close process, including data collection, journal entries, account analysis, reconciliation and financial statement preparation, if applicable. 4. Reconciles balance sheet accounts and other specified general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, if applicable. 5. Oversees the review and management of Accounts Receivable, if applicable. 6. Responsible for the preparation of the annual operating budget for assigned department, including analyzing variances to actual and determining and ensuring reasonableness by department, service line, and division, using independent judgment and discretion, if applicable. 7. Performs loading and reconciliation of data within appropriate budgeting system/financial reporting system. 8. Acts as central contact and source of information and support for appropriate departments with regard to budget preparation and analysis, if applicable. 9. Responsible for creating reports, analyzing data, and providing conclusions in response to ad hoc inquiries from leadership, if applicable. 10. Responsible for researching and analyzing data for, and writing portions of, the monthly variance reports as assigned. 11. Manages report modeling, generation and distribution of department director performance monitoring and tracking reports, if applicable. 12. Assists in performing Due Diligence on proposed ventures on an ad hoc basis. 13. Provides general oversight of cost accounting system including set-up, maintenance, and on-going analytics. 14. Provides assistance to peers, consultants, auditors, etc., as needed. 15. Acts as liaison for system implementations, report modeling and as point-person for general issues that arise, if applicable. 16. Maintains the Program Tracking System (Trackit) and functions as the Database Administrator, if applicable. 17. Responsible for internal and external close-out and reconciliation of program grants, if applicable. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.
